AYUDA PROYECTO ELIMINADO

Leandro Ezequiel Sanchez February 3, 2023

HOLA!

RESULTA QUE ENTRAMOS A CREAR UNA INCIDENCIA EN NUESTRO PROYECTO Y NO APARECE EN NINGUN LADO, COMO ES POSIBLE QUE SE HAYA ELIMINADO? NADIE RECUERDA SER ADMINISTRADOR DEL PROYECTO COMO ENTRAR A RESTAURARLO, COMO DEBEMOS PROCEDER?

Hola @Leandro Ezequiel Sanchez ,

created > startOfDay()
created > "2023-02-01"

Hello,

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Are you unable to find a single issue that you entered, or are you unable to find an entire Project?

To look for any recently created issues you can use the Advanced Issue Search screen and enter a filter to select issue based on the Creation Date of the issue. You can base that on a date function or an explicit date. Here are two examples:

created > startOfDay()
created > "2023-02-01"

Only the issues that you have permission to see will be listed.

If you have actually deleted an issue or an entire project it is permanently gone. It cannot be recovered unless you had a backup of the Jira product that included the data.

If this doesn't address your question then we will need more information about the steps you executed to create the issue.

HELP DELETED PROJECT

IT TURNS OUT THAT WE ENTERED TO CREATE AN INCIDENT IN OUR PROJECT AND IT DOESN'T APPEAR ANYWHERE, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IT HAS BEEN DELETED? NOBODY REMEMBER TO BE AN ADMINISTRATOR OF THE PROJECT HOW TO ENTER TO RESTORE IT, HOW SHOULD WE PROCEED?

Hi @Leandro Ezequiel Sanchez

100% agree with @Trudy Claspill

One other place to check if the entire project has been deleted, it may still be in the Trash bin - You can see what is in the Trash bin here and recover from here if available.

https://[Name of your site].atlassian.net/jira/settings/projects/trash

You can read more here - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/create-edit-and-delete-team-managed-projects/

As @Trudy Claspill calls out if you have deleted just one is issue, then that issue is gone for ever unless you have taken a backup of Jira site.

As part of Atlassian's Cloud Security Shared Responsibilities, it is your responsibility to back up your Jira data as a Administrator.

Most Jira cloud administrators are under the impression that moving to the cloud means they do not have to have a data backup & restore strategy in place.

Looking forward your options at hand are:

  1. Tighten-up the permissions
  2. Use Atlassian provided backup
  3. Or use Revyz's Backup & Restore App available in the Atlassian Marketplace

There are pro's & con's for each of the approaches and depends on your organizations risk appetite and data volume.

Hola @Leandro Ezequiel Sanchez

Can I view a deleted issue and see who did it in Jira Software?

If it is deleted, there is no way to see this event in Jira.

The add-ons from the marketplace work only for issues that are deleted after the app is installed.

Hi @Ana Magaly Reyes

By default, Jira does not track deleted issues and deleted issues are lost forever. To prevent it happening again, you can try Restore Deleted Issues app developed by our team. In order for this app to work, the app must have been installed before the issue is deleted.

After you install this app,

  • Both bulk and single issue deletions are logged.
  • You can see when and by whom issues are deleted.
  • You can recover summary, description, comments except attachments.

Below you can find an article about tracking and restoring deleted issues in Jira.

How to Track and Restore Your Deleted Issues in Jira

Hope it helps.

Is the 'Restore Deleted Issues' application a paid plugin?

Yes. You can find pricing information on the Pricing tab of the Marketplace Listing, which is included in the answer provided by @Bloompeak Support

Note the page does say that it is free for up to 10 users. So if you have 10 or fewer licensed users of your Jira instance then the app would be free.
