502 NGINX bad gateway Jira

Cannot login to JIRA getting 502 nginx bad gateway in Chrome Safari and Firefox, have restarted system. JIRA is running on EC2 Amazon instance. Starter License.

502 on a proxy means either the proxy has something wrong with it (unlikely, but worth a restart of the proxy to check), or that the thing it is proxying is not running or talking to the proxy.

Check what JIRA is doing, by reading the logs, and try a curl of the base url from the JIRA server to see if it can at least return its own login page.

I'm getting the same message from the truenas console on different servers when login to jira through TRUENAS core 13 trying to submit a bug ticket
