I was trying to assign a project lead, but seems there's no such option in project details. this is a software project, but for other business project, I can archieve that. Please help.

You can change the Project Lead by going to the below path:
Go to project -> Project Settings -> Users and roles -> Top Right Edit Default -> Then change the project Lead.
Please let us know whether it works.
