Unable to upload an attachment to a ticket/issue in JIRA

Celin Prakash December 20, 2017

We tried to upload an attachment to a ticket and even tried to drag screenshots, however, we see an error that reads " File "XXX" was not uploaded"

Permission section has been validated by the Admin and seems be okay. All users have access to upload an attachment to a ticket. Not sure if it has something to do with an add-on/plugins.

Pls let me know if you had faced similar issue before in JIRA and how did you fixed it?

Thank you!

@Celin Prakash, A few thoughts:

  • Check the permissions for the attachments folder on your server.  Make sure the account running Jira has the ability to read/write to the directory.
  • Check the size limit for attachments both on Jira and your proxy if using one.  (I know nginx limits file size by default).
  • A silly one but have you added the attachments field to your issue screen?
