How to change the date on a new ticket

Jean Bien-Aime December 6, 2021

There are many times when we don't have time to enter tickets the same day that the issue occurred.  Is there a way to modify the entered date on a new ticket?  Please advise.

There is not a supported method to change the System field for Created Date/Time. If you wanted to note the original date when the issues was discovered you could record that in a custom Date field.

The posted article is for Jira Server/Data Center. Direct access to the database is not supported for Jira Cloud instances.

Definitely not interested in the hack but a custom field sounds promising.

Hi @Jean Bien-Aime

Are you referring to the created date of the ticket?

If so, you will have to use a hack which is not recommended or have a new customfield that outlines when the ticket was originally raised.
