Can you create a burndown by Jira Board vs. Project?

Is there a way to create a burndown chart or reports in general for a board vs. Project?  I have a project for a team that has grown and is now being split into several scrum teams.  Because their work is related and they report up to the same management team, and share releases, we would like to keep the work together in one project, but allow each of them to have their own board, including burndowns, velocity charts etc.?

Hi Kathy

You're correct in saying that the project needs to be kept as one backlog.

There is an option to enable parallel sprints, so you would create a sprint for each team and move specific items into each sprint. The active board can then either show all the work or a specific team's work, and on the reporting side, each sprint would have their own set of reports.

Or ... you could do as you're asking and create a separate board for each team. To do this, you would need some identifier to be able to only show that team's items - people usually use component or label for that. Then set up each board's filter query with the identifying component or label.

Both methods would work - you may want to try in a dummy project and see the pros and cons of each.
