time-conditional automation

Raz Fomin February 1, 2023

I want to create an automation that transitions issues from status A (which is visible on the board) to status B (which isn't visible), that should work 14 days after an issue was transitioned to status A - essentially "cleaning" the board of old issues.

So, if an issue was transitioned to the status "in production", after 14 days I want to automatically transition it to status "production archive", so that our board will be less cluttered. thoughts?

Hi Raz - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You can do that with an Automation Rule. Create a Scheduled Trigger rule to run once a day. Put your JQL in the scheduled trigger.

Then add a new action for Transition Issue and select the status you want it to transition to. Make sure there are no Conditions on the transition that only certain users can do that transition. If there is, then add the atlassian-addons project role.
