In Jira Service Management customers does not cost any type of licenses (agents does).
On the features, it is mentioned that it has a integrated knowledge base. I read that agents can write/edit articles in the KB (in confluence).
But can the customers (that do not have any type of license) read the KB? for like self resolve any type of simple issues.

Yes that is true customer does not cost any type of license but agent does.
Yes, recently Atlassian has added feature JSM project has it's built in Knowledge base. Agent's can create articles in KB.
To read the article customer does not required any license, they can access the article without providing the license but they should have portal access.
