autopopulate Custom field with reporter name

guillermo.casco@grey.com October 18, 2021

Hello guys. Is there a way to do this with a post function? I wasn´t able to find one.

There is a filed while creating the ticket that usually need to be filled in with  "affected user"

I would like that if no value is completed there, after tickets gets created it autopopulates with the name of the reporter (person creating ticket).

Is there a way to achieving this?

Thank you

Hi guillermo.casco@grey.com

There is a native post function that Jira offers:

My custom field is of type "User Picker single"

And the result:

I don´t see a native one I see those who are from a provider which are not going to be used anymore in the future. Is there other way to do it? We have Jira server.

Hi guillermo.casco@grey.com ,

You can try using Copy Issue fields post functionhttps://innovalog.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JMWEC/pages/2369683457/Copy+issue+fields) from JMWE apphttps://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/292/jira-misc-workflow-extensions-jmwe?tab=overview&hosting=cloud)

Please find below configuration screenshots.
