Transition does not exist

Gui Ávila October 12, 2020

Hi.

Are transitions global or by projects?

In this Workflow from project X this transition exists: http://prntscr.com/uy0irf

But in this Workflow from project Y I'm instructed to create a new one: http://prntscr.com/uy0jvi

Thanks.

Gui.

Hi,

Typically, when I make a workflow from scratch, I name the transition where it is going to. For  example, from OPEN -> IN PROGRESS I use the transition name "In Progress".

If you are using a workflow that is pre-defined, ie. from the canned product, the transition "Start Progress" you can use that as well; If it doesn't exist on the current workflow you won't see it under the "reuse transition" option.

I checked my jira cloud instance and that is what I see; if you have anymore questions please feel free to reach out to me.

Hi @Gui Ávila , you can choose to use the same workflow between projects if you wish and in doing so the transitions would be shared. However if you have different workflows the transitions are unique.
