Set Status on User for Availability

Would it be possible to allow users to set a status such as "Out of Office," "On Vacation," or similar? This would make it easier to see resource availability when assigning cases.

Additionally, this feature would enable users to mark themselves as unavailable, preventing cases from being assigned to them while they are away.

Potential Benefits:

  • Improves visibility of team availability.
  • Reduces the need for manual tracking of out-of-office statuses.
  • Prevents misassigned cases when users are unavailable.

Hi @Sugina Tharmarajah, this is a functionality that currently requires a marketplace app like resolution's Out of Office Assistant, of which I happen to be the Product Owner.

The bright part of this is, we've solved it better than a manual status would solve it. What you do with our app is integrate with your calendar and create rules that define what should happen to any work that is assigned during an absence -- or to approvals that are waiting for your return.

I suggest you have a look as Atlassian is not likely to develop the feature natively any time soon given its current priorities.
