Relational Data inside of Jira

Gary Vye January 23, 2020

We're trying to move an existing workflow from Sharepoint Online into Jira and we're having some issues trying to figure out how to move over relational data.

We have a list which contains Application Name which is tied to the Application owner, administrator as well as workflow path (No approver, Short, Default)

If would be great if there was a way to get this into Jira and be able to pull this into a workflow to be used dynamically based on Application name.

I wasn't able to find anything online; other than plug in suggestions.

If the different workflows aren't that different, just skip some steps of the main one, you could use multiple transitions to the same status but each one would apply for different application names based on the conditions that you add to each of them. As an example you could have a transition that skips 3 steps in the process if the application name is Jira, but you can skip only one if the application is Confluence.

If you use conditions good enough you might even have one transition to a target status but based on the "ands" and "or" you add to the conditions it shows on different places for different application names.
