Receive emails when you make changes to issues

Hi guys,

in the jira personal notification settings, it is stated that

Default notification settings apply across your projects. These can be overridden by your email preferences scn12.pngscn11.png or by custom project notifications settings."

when i trun the toggle off for "Allow emails for issue activity", as it is stated above, the email notification checkboxes below get turned off, which is logical.

However, for the second option which is "Receive emails when you make changes to issues", whe the toggle is turned off, nothing changes down below.

does anyone know what is the purpose of the second toggle?

I put screenshots to simplify my question:

thanks a lot yall

Hello @Rim Ben Rejab

The second toggle allows you to exclude or include the emails from issue activity where the issue activity was initiated by you, specifically.

If somebody else changes the status, you want to receive an email. But if you change the status, you don't may not want an email about that because you already know about that activity. Turning the second toggle off will prevent the send of an email to you for issue activities you execute.

@Rim Ben Rejab You are in the correct path, but the most important part is the notification scheme asosianted to the project that the issues are part of.  Check that please.

hi Nicolas,

thanks for your quick reply, but don't personal email settings override the notifications schemes of projects? ^^
