I m preparing Finance service desk project & for which i need to add Geo field in each service request. Customer will choose region based on which an ticket should automatically assign to respective SD Agent.
Suppose customer raised Billing Issue from USA, so he will choose Biiling as Request type, Geo as USA & Jira automation should assign that ticket to respective person who looks at USA Accounts.
And what exactly is the question? Sounds like a valid use-case.
First of all, you need to create a new customfield in Jira. Please go to Jira settings -> Issues-> Customfields -> Add Customfield named Geo (Single Select list). After the creation of a new field, do not forget to add it to project screens (ex: create, view etc).
Than go to related service desk project settings -> request types. Click "Edit Fields" for related request type. Click "Add a field", select your GEO field and make it required if needed.
After that, GEO field will be visible in request type page in portal.
