Limiting the status dropdown options for customers in the portal requests tabs.

In the customer portal we're currently setting up, we have set it so that customers don't see certain status', so they're not aware of the specific stage of the workflow an issue is on. For instance, when a issue is set to "Waiting on R&D", they see it as "In Progress".

However, when searching through their requests in the portal, they can see the entire workflow status', and sort their requests using those backend status', making the whole idea of "Status name to show to customers" redundant.


Attached is an example. In the workflows, the status' circles are suppose to be presented as only "In Progress" to the customer. Having them here being filterable in the requests page on the portal, makes the idea of "Status name to show to the customer" entirely redundant. Is there a way to fix this?
