Limit Requests for user group

Hi everybody, I am setting up a Jira Service Desk project (Jira hosted Data Center).

Aim: internal Procurement Process for a certain kind of resources.

As I want to be able to create projects costs forecasts based on the resource requests, I'd like to allow the project managers (BUT ONLY THEM) to use the SD requests to simply fill in forecasted or incurred cost.

I have already created all the different issues type, requests, workflows etc, but can I allow only a selected group of user to see certain requests or request groups?

Would you not simply do this by only listing the PMs as Customers? That is don’t give access to anyone but PMs and the agents to support the requests? Maybe I’m missing something?

1) TO VIEW:

Yes, you can restrict the people to see limited issues in same project.

One solution is to create an issue security scheme for your project. Let's say: "General" (default) and "Project Managers" security levels. Any issue created from portal gets "General" security level and it is shown to all agents (jira-servicedesk-users), you can configure the mapped user/groups.

To restrict the request types, go to project settings -> request types -> ex procurement -> edit fields -> add field (security level) -> hide and choose default value "Project Managers". Issue will be created with that level. So, only the people who belongs to this security level will be eligible to see those requests.

2) TO CREATE:

If you want to limit the request creation to specific group, it is not possible out of the box. There is an add-on for this. Please check it.

Yes, my concern was about limiting the creation. e.g. request 1: everybody can create it. Request 2: only PMs.
