Greetings, Jira community! Does anyone know how to use a filter (or any other mechanism) to pull out a report with the time entered by the dev team members for a specific date range? There are so many date fields in Jira, and I can't find a good definition for them. Devs and analysts manually enter their time on cards using the custom fields screenshotted below. The information I'm trying to retrieve is the hours worked on any cards month by month. I'd like to pull a report with all hours entered in February, all hours entered in March, all hours entered in April, etc. This project is set up with a Kanban board.
As Walter suggested, mktplace apps are the best bet to get time tracking data. If you would be interested in the same, you can try the add-on we have developed. You can easily view time entries for multiple users, day wise in a single view. And with the ability to export to a CSV as well.

To generate a report with the time entered by your dev and analyst team members for a specific date range, you can consider using worklog categories instead of custom fields. Worklog categories allow for more flexible reporting and can be easily filtered by date range.
In your case, you can use a Jira add-on like ActivityTimeline, which offers enhanced reporting capabilities. With ActivityTimeline, you can create custom reports based on worklog categories and filter them by specific date ranges, such as February, March, April, etc. This will help you to view the hours worked on any cards month by month, as per your requirement.
If you're interested in learning more about how ActivityTimeline can streamline your workflow, we'd be happy to provide more information or arrange a demo.

There are lots of time tracking apps in the marketplace. Although all of them supports grouping by day, not all of them supports grouping by month. Our app, WorklogPRO supports grouping efforts by month. When grouping for issue, you may also see grouping by parent issues or subtasks. WorklogPRO supports Jira's parent field, so you can exactly see issue hierarchy in timesheet report.

You might consider using time-tracking apps that in most cases have a customizable report of tracked time on issues.
I can recommend our Clockwork Automated Time Tracking & Timesheets Pro, or Free app which offers you the possibility to review timesheets and create reports that can be configured in various ways using break-down and filtering options.
Using timesheets, you can create a report and filter it based on several options including labels, or other fields. You can choose a range for a whole year and break down the data by chosen fields. This information can be also exported to Excel files.
We have recently also developed a Team feature that allows you to create Teams which can be used in timesheet filters and breakdowns. When a team is selected for a timesheet/report, all users in the team will be included in the report even if they do not have any worklogs for the selected timeframe.
Please find below the sample of how the timesheet looks like:

Hi @Brianna Hook,
Jira is not so good for reporting on this. When you search with JQL, you always get a set of issues and not really the time spent on them.
For reporting on logged work, it is very much recommended to look at the many time tracking apps available in the Marketplace. There are cheaper and more expensive ones, complex and simple. But - depending on your needs - this an area really worth looking into the marketplace for.
Hope this helps!
