Jira Service Management database access

Robert Munoz October 18, 2021

We are currently in an evaluation stage for obtaining Jira Service Management (cloud) for our team. One of the questions we have is regarding database access. Aside from the REST API, can the database be accessed ?

Sincerely,

Robert

@Robert Munoz -

Direct database access against Jira Software and JSM is no recommended due to the complex relationship among database objects.

In the CLOUD env, you do not have direct access to the Database and can only extract data using the REST API.  For the Server env (note Atlassian is decommissioning support for the Server env next Feb, 2022) - You can can find the database schemas for different Jira versions here, Database schema.

Again, you should just use REST APIs to get the information of your system and avoid using DB access for information.
