  1. Can you configure the portal to return more than 5 request types in the search?
  2. Why do the search results only include the request type name and not the description?
  3. How are the top 5 request types determined? Keywords, Tags, etc?

Hi @Mathew Lederman ,

Are you referring to the pop-up window that appears be.ow the help center search as you begin to type? If not please share a screenshot. If so then here are my thoughts.

  1. unfortunately no. There is an open issue about configuration for # KB results - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-4263
  2. i can just provide an opinion here - maybe just trying to keep things clean in that popup
  3. Unsure but likely associated with the number of the search word and whether in title, body, description. I have not seen anything that explained the algorithm.

@Jack Brickey

Yes, the pop-up that appears below the search window.

  1. I saw this, but we're trying to get valid search results before adding KB articles
  2. This is the IT Service Desk for a 12k user organization. Unfortunately there is no way to clean up the results. If a user searches for 'account' there are going to be options related to service accounts, active directory accounts, email accounts, etc. and likely multiple for each option since the JSM Forms doesn't allow for multiple conditions.

We're moving from DC where we have a really good service desk theme using Theme Extension for JSM, but I was really hoping to use Atlassian's native JSM portal. Unfortunately, the user experience is terrible and the functionality is EXTREMELY limited.

Hi @Mathew Lederman , I agree that the configuration is limited. The entire portal experience needs to be uplifted IMO.
