JSM Notifications when you are a Request Participant and Watcher

Dave Stillwell June 12, 2024

I currently a watcher on a JSM Ticket but the Customer added me as Request Participant as well.  When I selected "Don't notify me" in the Customer portal, it seems to have stopped me from getting notifications as a Watcher unless I am mentioned in a comment.  Is this expected behavior?  I would think the Watcher status would allow me to continue to see all activity on the ticket whether I am mentioned or not.

I can't find anything to verify my suspicion, but I suspect it's expected behavior, @Dave Stillwell.  I.e., JSM only recognizes you as an email address that is supposed to (or not) get an email.

Note: I am assuming the same email address was used in both fields. And I suspect that if you remove yourself as a watcher and then add yourself back as a watcher things will be as you would like them to be again.

Hope this helps,

@Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ That seems to make sense.  I will try it out.
