Is any limitations to delete components in JIRA or we can directly delete it?

Is any limitations to delete components in JIRA or we can directly delete it?

Around 60 tickets have component values, what will happen with the tickets if we delete components.

Hi @RG

Only a Project administrator can remove Components

When a component is deleted, the issue still "live" normally, but without that component listed on it.

Every filter query including this component will still work but the results will not include that component anymore. This means, based on your setup, e.g. a Board can stop displaying the issues who had that component assosiated, hence you might need to adjust filters.

Hi @RG ,

You must have the project-specific Administer projects permission or the Jira administrator global permission to Add/Edit/Delete components.

If the component you’re deleting is used in existing Jira issues, you’ll be offered the following options.

  • Swap current issues to component
  • Remove component from all issues
