Insight Objects - Assigning to users

Jeffrey Eaton August 18, 2022

Hi All, I'm currently in the process of adding in laptops/desktops etc into Insight but can't figure out a way to be able to have a field that I can use as "Assigned to" which has a lookup which looks into the People list which we have that shows all the users/people in JSM. (People is not a object schema, this is outside of it).

I don't want to have to build a way to import "everyone" into a "people schema" within insight - was hoping there was a simpler way??

Hi @Jeffrey Eaton

Welcome to the community!

If I understand correctly, you're looking to have Laptops as Objects and have an attribute on those that stores a value for which Jira user that Laptop is assigned to?

If you create an attribute of type "User" (rather than type "Default") then when creating an object you can select any Jira user as a value in that attribute.

Is this what you're looking for?

I hope it helps,
