I'm new to all things Jira and was wondering if anyone else has an ITAM project setup and a team in Jira that feeds information to Insight?
I'm working on setting up my ITAM schema in Insight with all of our data and I have the following questions.
1. Do I need to have a Jira project setup in JSM to do ITAM with Insight?
2. How can users/field techs update attributes in Insight without giving them a developer role? Can it be done with either automation or forms?
Thanks for the help.
Hey Kevin,
If the tags are correct, you are on server?
If yes, there are insight post functions available on workflows to help you copy over custom fields to insight attributes.
Using that in combination with a servicedesk portal where users can enter their data, you should be able to reach your goal of point 2.
For point 1, you can alway only manage and use insight data from within insight, but there is always added value in using insight data on issues.
Hope this helps,
Laurens
Just upgraded to data center. Any documentation on the insight post functions?
So no need to set up a separate ITAM project in Jira Core but use insight data on service desk issues, is my summary accurate?
Thanks for the information.
