Incorrect word wrapping in KB article, displayed as a search result in JIRA Service Desk

Edited

Hello. I've noticed that there is a problem with a word wrapping in embedded in Customer Portal knowledge-base article, written in Confluence. Words at the end of the line shouldn't be divided it to parts. Instead it shold be moved to the next line.

I think there is a problem with a CSS file, becasue if I edit it on-the-fly in Safari WWW Inspector, turning off a body {word-break:break-all} tag, words are moved to the next line.

Hi @mkilinski

In case the issue still persists I have some news for you. While we're facing the same issue and running out of options/clues we raised an issue with Atlassian support.

It turned out that there's a bug being unknown until these days. Most likely the bug was introduced with version 6.15, however it is not reproducible with Confluence 7.1

We were advised to upgrade at least to next LTS release available, that would be 7.4 - according to Atlassian it is unlikely that there'll be another solution than an upgrade.

You also may have a look at this issue raised by Atlassian in conjunction with our support ticket.

Best regards and Merry Christmas,

Johannes

Hello,

I just came across this site while seeking for reasons/solutions regarding the same issue.

Does this problem still persist? Was there a way to fix it? One of my clients is facing exactly the same issue and it is indeed the very first time that I see this (amongst a number of other Service Desk installations).

Installed versions (all server editions):

  • Jira Software: 8.5.1
  • Jira Service Desk: 4.5.1
  • Confluence: 6.15.9

Thanks and best regards,

Johannes
