I am getting an internal server code when trying to change a status, what should I do to solve it?

So far there isn't any incident active at https://jira-software.status.atlassian.com/. I would recommend that you wait a bit to see if this issue will be resolved by itself or raise a support request at support.atlassian.com/contact if you are on a paid plan. Visit the first link for update concerning jira to get notified in case of any incident.
