How to update topics in portals within service desk?

Bhuvaneswari Vasudevan April 11, 2024

I'm new to  Jira Service Management and have an need to modify the existing portal. There is a service desk portal where there are few topics. Based on the topic selected there is  another portal screen that requests to select the user. I need to update the contents in this page for some of the users.

What access do I need to update the portal?

Can you guide me the steps for the update?

I have access to update the home page layout. But not able to traverse through the next level for updating content.

Hi @Bhuvaneswari Vasudevan ,

It sounds like you are trying to adjust the request types, is that correct?
If so, you need project admin permissions for the project where you want to adjust the request types.

If you are working in a company managed project you can follow this documentation.
If you are working in a team managed project use this documentation instead.

I'm also curious what you mean by "I need to update the contents in this page for some of the users"? The help portal content are the same for all user who can access the portal.

Hope this helps,

Els

Thanks for your response Els. I understand there is a portal settings that allows to categorize portal groups.

With that option, I was able to create a new user group and associate specific forms for them.
