How to hide the Request type field value on the view screen of a ticket.

From the View screen of a ticket, is it possible to hide the Request Type field?

Hi Jason:

As I know, the request type field is a system field which cannot be hidden from Issue View screen.  If you access the screen configuration, you don't even see the field listed.  Therefore, it cannot be removed.
