How to create a placeholder in a custom field in Jira Cloud?

I have tried in the Cloud instance to create a placeholder in a custom field of type text. So far I have had no positive results.
I appreciate if any of you have knowledge about this topic, or if this function is not yet handled.

thanks for your question. I'm not quite sure what you mean by placeholder, but you can set default values for text fields via Custom Field Context

This can be set via System -> Issues -> Custom fields
