How do I have only selective components show in a form?

Morning Everyone,

I'm setting up multiple forms form Jira Service MAnagement

I only seem to have the option to show all the components created, and I just want to use a select few for each form I'm creating ...

is this possible? thank you

Hi @Michelle Boldison 

Not that I know of natively.

If you're linking a Form to a Jira Field, it displays all that field's options.

In this instance, you'll need to create a Custom Field per Form - such as a Select List (Multiple Choice) - and list only the options you want to include. Then link it to your Form field.

Alternatively, you might be able to...

• Create a multi-choice Form field (not linked to a Jira field)
• Populate the Options here per Form
• Use Automation to populate the Form's options into Components at creation.
  • I've not tried this, and it would require some trial and error
  • See this answer's response for how to use form fields in Automation
