How can I adjust project customer list when synching AD?

My group supports 2 different business that share the same Active Directory.

We have synched AD and Atlassian directories. (for the purpose of SAML)

We have one project that all AD users can access as customers.

I have 2 other projects where I only want a subset of customers to have access (I don't want them to see the portal link for the project).

If I use  "Customers my team adds to the project", when i add specific customers with an e-mail address matching what's in atlassian, they seem to add properly until the page refreshes....then they disappear. 

"Anyone with an account on https://xxxx.atlassian.net" moves unwanted users into the customer list.

What am i doing wrong???

Never mind.... figured this out via "organizations"
