Filter shows Parent Key, but not Export

Jacques B August 11, 2022

When I create a Filter (or Query) of subtasks, Jira includes the Key of the parent issue in the Summary field (see blue block in image).

When I export the results to Excel the parent's key is no longer part of the data.

Is it possible to keep / include the parent key in the export?

As an alternative I've though to copy the parent's key to a custom field of the subtask (upon creation) and then to add this field to the Filter, but then all the existing subtasks' custom fields are not populated.

Any help would be appreciated.

@Jacques B -

Here is a better way, when you export the result set, if you choose Export HTML report (current fields) format instead of Export Excel CSV, then the parent key will be retained in the summary column.

You can then open the exported HTML file using Excel and save the file as xlsx if needed.  No need to create custom fields as you suggested as an alternative.

Hope this helps.
