Export On Prem Jira to Cloud JSM

Hi All,

I am looking to do some integration/synchronization with a On Premise Jira to our Cloud base JSM. Essentially we would like to capture all the same data and fields that is currently being used in the On Prem Jira to our JSM. (In a way, a migration from On Prem Jira to JSM ).

My question is what would be the way to proceed with this? Is there a way we can look at exporting Issues, Workflows and Schemes, Screens and Schemes, Field Configuration and Schemes, Custom Data fields, Status, Priorities etc and import all these to our Cloud JSM?

Any input would be much appreciated!

Hi @Khang Pham

To have synchronization, first, you need to have the same data in both instances as you are looking at even the schemes to be in place

So first migrate the instance using Jira Cloud Migration Assistant App

Now Data which is present in Cloud is same as On-premise

The next step is to use any plugin that offers Sync

Use the above plugin to achieve the Sync

Hi Pramodh,

I might have used the wrong term with Synchronization. Bit of context, we are trying to replicate/integrate a clients On-Prem Jira to our JSM so both parties can be using the same JSM instance. The clients On-Prem Jira does not have internet access and is also on completely separate network and environment.

I was thinking along the lines of possibly exporting all the existing field configurations, workflow schemes and screen schemes and import those into our JSM first, then start to export their existing issues/data and importing them into our JSM.

I am just unsure if this can even be achieved with On-Prem Server Jira and the JSM being 2 separate instances or even if we can export screens, issue types and the different types of schemes etc in the first place as I cannot find an option to do that.

Thanks @Pramodh M for mentioning Exalate.

@Khang Pham

Configuration Manager is a good bet.
There is a cost associated to it, but it is much less costly (timewise) than having to do it manually.
