We are facing the same issue as https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Desk-questions/Email-processing-creates-tickets-with-incorrect-reporter-email/qaq-p/1238808. Please let us know if this is something thats been fixed in Jira.

If you are using Google Groups as the mail handler on the Service Desk project as mentioned on the other thread, it's expected that the reporter won't be added correctly because Jira doesn't recognize who is sending the email.
