Display Jira portal data in external system

Hi there,


Is it possible to push Jira ticket info to an external system? 


We have a similar "Helpdesk Portal" view in our system and would like to find out if it is possible to have jira ticket information pushed to our system? Then our clients can view the progress of their tickets and if need be, comment or change the ticket status from within our system. 

We have tried the Jira helpdesk portal, but our clients are reluctant to sign into Atlassian so we are looking at other options. I would like to be able to have the ticket information in our systems as well for internal audit purposes and also to be able to manage the help desk process from within our system. 

We already have to communication from our systems to Jira, as our clients raise help desk tickets from within our system, so we really just need to find out how to get the jira information pushed to our systems. 

If there are any training documents around this please let me know so that I can go read up on it.

Is your internal system a proprietary system you designed yourselves, or another third party product?

There are a variety of third party apps that can be used to synchronize data between Jira and other systems. Here is a search of the Atlassian Marketplace to help you get started reviewing those:

Does your internal system have any sort of REST API that could be called from the Jira system? If so, you might be able to use Automation for Jira to create rules that would send data via the Send Web Request action, pushing data to your internal system.

If neither the third party tools available for synchronization nor the use of the Send Web Request automation featuret meet your needs then you may need to look at developing your own synchronization app.
