Different Key for Sub task

Hi,

Is it possible to have a different key for SubTask?

Our prblem is Project key and subtask key are being used in the same sequence... for e.g.

Pr-1, Pr-2 and so on for issues under a project.

For Sub task it use the next available number... i.e. Pr-3

Is there a way or altrernative that I can generate my own key?

What I have tried so far with Automation

- Created a new rule

- When an issue is created (Condition)

- Then added a condition to search all subtask and order by (Custom field) : JQL

- How do I update the value to next key

Appreciate any help on these lines....

No, Jira allocates the key for each issue, you can't set it arbitrarily.

Would love to be able to PR-1 as the project then subtask PR-1a, PR-1b, ect
