Difference between "People and Access" and "Directory"?

I am fairly confident in understanding what the "People and Access" tab is for, but what exactly is the "Directory" tab used for and what access am I granting if I add a user or organization to that list?

Hi @Jared Grywacheski , if I understand your question correctly, the "People and Access" tab is for managing users in your Project, whereas the "Directory" tab (in the Admin page) enables you to add people to a Product (e.g., Jira Service Management, Jira Platform, Confluence). For someone to access a specific project in JSM (for example), they need to have access to both Jira Service Management AND that project.

If that didn't answer your question, please post back with more detail and example, thanks.

Thank you Susan,

I think that answers it.

The People and access tab is in the JSM Project Settings

But the Directory is now found in line with Queues, Reports, Channels, etc...

Hi @Jared Grywacheski , glad the info was helpful AND thanks for the correction on Directory location (my UI hasn't been updated yet, I guess!). Take care.
