Developer not allowed to view JSD tickets

Peter Harris February 1, 2021

So, I am a bit out of date on versions, but we are running JSD 4.3.2 / JS 8.3.2

I have support staff added to jira-servicedesk-users application access.

I have developers added to jira-software-users application access.

jira-servicedesk-users is set to the Service Desk Team role in my JSD project

jira-software-users is set to the Developers role in my JSD project

Developers role has been given the following permissions:

  • Browse Projects
  • Edit issues
  • Transistion Issues
  • Add Comment
  • Edit own Comment

Unfortunately, when a developer tries to access any ticket in my jsd project, they are presented with

"Snap you cant view this page"

"You need to be a Service Desk Agent to access this page"

I am not quite sure where my permissions are wrong. Any help greatfully appreciated

Thanks

P

@Peter Harris

Just add all the developers to your Service Desk Team role. It won't license them, but it'll give them a chance to see the tickets.

Thanks,

Kian

Thanks Kian, that seems to work. It seems strange that I have to give developers full service desk role, but hey, I am sure I can trust developers :)
