Customer request link lost when issue is Moved to another project

Mark Holman December 23, 2021

We have a lot of internal users that make requests that our outside of our IT service catalogue.  We would like to Move these requests to another project to go through an intake process and handled by another team of IT engineers.  What we have found is if we migrate a request to a different project that the Agent or Jira Software view/link is updated or redirects properly to the new Jira project when clicking on the old link; however, the Customer (or Portal) View/Link does not redirect them to the new location.  Instead they get a page saying they do not have permissions to view this request.  Ideally we would want it to redirect the user to the location where the request was moved to.

What type of project are the issues moved to?  If it's not a JSM project then they wouldn't be able to view the request.  If it is then you may just have to add them as customers to the other project so they have access to both.
