Customer Portal Questions

We are building a customer portal in our sandbox. As we do maintenance  on the customer portal, Is it possible to promote the changes from the sandbox to  production or do these have to be done manually?


Is there a way to bring the portal down to do maintenance and then bring it back up with the new changes?


What is the standard for doing maintenance on the custom portal?

Hi @Tina Thomas 

  1. I believe moving changes from the sandbox to production is all done manually.
  2. There is no maintenance mode for the portal, changes you make to it will appear to users after they're made.
  3. Customization of the portal is pretty basic, customize the look, change home page layout, add a login message, add announcements/banners. Personally I'm not concerned about making changes, but you could always set a policy that changes will only be made during after-hours.
