Good Afternoon,

I am relatively new to using Jira (Cloud) and I am looking to see if what I want to do is possible before I start researching it further.

Within my Objects, I have two attributes called 'Health Check Date' and 'Health Check Frequency'.

What I'd like to do is set up some automation:

If 'Health Check Date' is updated, then either Create an Issue/Schedule an Email for 'Health Check Date + Health Check Frequency'

For example, if someone changes the Health Check Date to 28/05/2024, then it would be great if it then created an Issue with a start/end date of 28/05/2025 (assuming 12 months is the frequency) or send the Team an email 12 months from now.

Many Thanks

Hi @Heather Wild and welcome to the community!

This is possible, but easier said than done.  There have been a few suggestions to expand automation so that it can trigger on object attribute change. You can vote/watch the latest here:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-10002

The workaround is best explained here which essentially requires some prowess at leveraging the Send Web Request action for making REST API calls:

Hi @Mark Segall ,

Thank you! and thanks for your response.

I will have a look through both of the links that you've shared and have a play around :)

Thanks,

Heather
