Change a order of a JSM change field (Not customer facing)

Danielle David November 29, 2023

Hi, I am tying to change the order of some fields on our JSM change not customer facing change ticket.

I am going to the configure screen, do I just drag to the order I want?

It dos say,

  • You can configure the order of fields and tabs in a project by going to Project settings > Issue layout .

However i cannot find the issue layout area?

@Danielle David -

Hi Danielle:

I am assuming you are referring to the Issue View layout via the project UI?  If so, go to Project settings >> Request types and select your desired type.  Afterward access the Issue View tab to arrange the field layout.

Unfortunately, the reference of "Project settings >> Layouts" is for Jira Software application projects.  In JSM there is no such references, instead it is the Issue View tab as I mentioned above.  This is something that Atlassian should correct.

The overall concept is the same on layout - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-layout/

Hope this helps.

What about Tasks and Sub-tasks?

These aren't Service Requests, so we don't seem them in this menu, but we still require the capability of editing their layout.

Even in a JSM project, we have the requirement to create tasks and sub-tasks for our co-workers. But it seems that we're unable to edit the layout of those.
