Can Jira notify user if task was already claimed? Edited

Having tasks in same queue allows our team to track, assign and work on a task right away. Sometimes two people can claim one task (even though they reload the page) at the same time and both think they claimed it and they start to work on it, so one person is just wasting their time. Is there a way to set notification that task has been already claimed? Or block another user from claiming it?

How do they claim the task right now? I guess you can use the assignee field. If you think people still miss that then may be you can setup a Slack channel to send notification?
