When adding
property: jira.permission.comment.user
value: false
commenting on the closed ticket is disabled for everyone. Is there a way to disable comments on closed tickets for the Customer Portal only while it stays available for JSD agents?
"false" is a very flat property, you can be a little more clever.
From memory,
jira.permission.comment.group = my-group-of-agents
is probably what you are looking for. Even if I'm wrong on the detail (or spelling), I think that shows you the principles of permission properties. Proper info is over at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/workflow-properties-938847526.html
@Nic Brough _Adaptavist_ I actually tried jira.permission.edit.group=my-group with value= true and that makes the closed tickets totally disappear.
Any other tips?

That would not make issues disappear, I think you've done something else to cause that.
