If a request is received during non-business hours, we would like to send an automated email back to the requestor to let them know we will respond during business hours.
I am not sure the exact approach to do this. I believe that we should create a custom notification based on an automation. The automation should be use on a rule that is scheduled using an Advanced Cron Expression and a JQL query.
Is this the correct approach or is there an easier way to do this?
We actually used our Mail Server (exchange) to handle this. Put in some automation to set or remove an out of office notification depending on if it was in our out of hours. Was easier then trying to deal with putting a time based condition on a notification in Jira itself.
