Automate Request Type based on Summary of ticket

I cannot get the syntax working to automate JIRA. I am trying to automate the request type to be changed automatically depending on the summary of the ticket.

For example, in a ticket that has the word "app" in the summary, I want the request type to be changed to "Volunteering App" automatically.

Is this possible? If not the summary, the description but preference would be the summary.

Hello Harry, 

Yes, you can achieve this with automation, there is a predefined rule in Automation legacy.

Go to Project settings -> Automation -> Legacy automation

  • Triage email requests
  • Under Issue matches edit JQL as desired
  • Edit request type 

If you have multiple summary versions just add a branch in the rule to add else if
