Ability to remove attachments from comments

In JSM new issue view, when you drag an attachment to the issue, it adds it to the comment area and the attachment area. Is there any way to remove the attachment embedded in the comment area without removing the actual attachment?

In the old issue view, it would add your comment to the comment area and the actual attachment (pdf, email msg, word doc, etc) to the attachment area.

I can see you already found and commented the feature request asking to have this behavior changed back to how it was before (and to make it consistent with way it currently work in Jira Software):

• [JSDCLOUD-9706] Ability to upload/delete attachments to/from the Attachments field in the New Issue View 

I am getting in touch with the PM responsible for this feature, asking to provide an update. Please keep on following the ticket and you will be notified as soon as this happens.
