JSM Jira Automation: How To Synchronize Customer and Dev Team comments

In this video tutorial, we will show you how you synchronize comments from a customer bug request from the portal and then use automation to copy the comments to the development tasks to.  We also provide with a rule that does the reverse.

Key Concepts:

1. Global Automation: Since the rules affect multiple projects you will require administrator permissions to create the rules.

2. Relationship Link Types: In this example we use the "Relates to" relationship to identify which tickets need to be updated.

3. Smart Values: 

  • Last Comment: {{triggerIssue.issue.comment.last.body}} provides you with the last comment posted
  • Initator's Name: {{initiator.displayName}} provides you with the user's name who triggered the comment.
