unable to search users using email address in JIRA service desk

Hi,

I have 2 user directories setup delegated authentication & JIRA internal directory, I am not getting any results when I try  to add users to roles in a project by searching using email address.  however it works correctly when I use username ( which is badge number in our case). 

Is there any  configuration to be setup to make email address searchable?

I am using JIRA 7.3.3 & service desk 3.4.0

we tested it on our local instance with multiple user directories (both delegated and internal) and the search works well:image.png

Can you please provide us your screenshot where the issue is happening? In addition, can you provide us screenshot of the affected user from the Users page?
