Sure.... right now the sender looks like this:

First Last [Administrator] (JIRA) <support@company.com>

Would be great to have just :

support@company.com

Hi, it seems like the solution above is only for the server version?

@Vyv Lomax Have you been able to solve this with the Cloud version?

Hi, I did.

I found what I wanted later on in a an old development ticket for Jira Service Desk Cloud and that is not solved yet, registered in 2014..

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-702

So right now we're looking at either creating some sort of workaround with the names of our employees in Jira, or to simply change solution.

We also found about 10-15 other limitations that we've been annoyed with in that development que, also not commented or solved.

The solution in the documentation works for the first notification, but not for when sending comments or a ticket is assigned and such.

Unfortunately this setting does not affect the email sender used by Jira Service Desk plugin.

We changed System Administration > System > General Configuration > Edit Settings -> "Email from" from "${fullname}" to "no-reply@company.com", but JSD notifications still arrive with full name sender.

We use JIRA Software (v6.3.15) + Jira Service Desk v.2.3.6

Anyone?

Same problem here. It's really bad that the sender name is the reporting user name, because email programs save that name as recipient name ... Not a good design decision.

The same problem! There is no way to change FROM name for Jira Service Desk email customer notifications. It's awful!

Vyv, I assume that you are referring to what shows in the email notifications? If so then you may find what you want here - System Administration > System > General Configuration > Edit Settings and change the "Email from".

Vyv, please provide more info here. What do you mean by "sender"? All user names are managed within the User Management section of the admin settings.
