Where are the issues saved?

Aina T October 19, 2017

Hi everyone,

I have a simple yet unclear (and probably stupid) question. I'm looking into setting up Jira Service Desk to try it out on Linux (CentOS 7). What I wanted to know is where the data sits with regards to the issues being collected. Would it be through emails mostly or locally on my server? It would help me figure out how often I need to backup the server to make sure issues won't get lost.

Thank you in advance for any help/guidance.

First of all, JIRA Service Desk is just an application for JIRA Core (previously called "add-on"). All the data of JIRA SD is sstored in the same data base as for JIRA. So you just need to backup database and application folder (%jirahome%).
